Glapthorn WI is thriving with over 30 members and an excellent committee. We are in a financially sound position thanks to all the support we receive from our members. Our aim is to have fun and learn something new at our meetings – recently we enjoyed a lesson in Laughter Yoga - excellent fun and great for the mind! The talks are followed by a competition and conclude with tea and biscuits taken with chatter and laughter.
In addition to the programmed talks and events, some of our members arrange interesting excursions and experiences, which is how we find ousels going to the Sandringham show.
Our Knit and Natter Group usually meet once a month and are currently knitting blankets for nursing homes and small toys for use by the police when they are dealing with vulnerable children. We would welcome any offers of knitting wool that are surplus to your needs!
We will be providing teas on Saturday 9th May at the village Hall for the Open Weekend in Short Wood and again hope to supply refreshment to many hungry and thirsty walkers, as well as plant stalls, tombola stall, greeting cards etc.
