GLAPTHORN COFFEE MORNING

GLAPTHORN COFFEE MORNING

A coffee morning with bring & buy sales table is being held at The Paddocks, Main Street, Glapthorn on Thursday 9th June from 10:30am.

All proceeds will go to help fund flowers for the Glapthorn Church Depiction of Ukraine, which is raising funds for The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

GLAPTHORN CHURCH UKRAINE APPEAL

St.Leonard's Church, Glapthorn, will be depicting Ukraine in flowers and foliage by floral friends on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July, with Church Cottage garden being open in the afternoon. And refreshments will be available in the Village Hall.

Proceeds to The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

GLAPTHORN'S PLATINUM JUBILEE BIG LUNCH

Glapthorn celebrated the Platinum Jubilee on Sunday with a church service followed by The BIG Lunch in the village hall. Some 150 villagers packed into the village hall to toast The Queen's Jubilee and party. The event brought to a close Glapthorn's busy schedule of Jubilee activities and thanks go to all the community for making it such a memorable occasion.

Everyone's hard work in creating crocheted, knitted and felt red, white and blue flowers has been realised, as Christine Grandidge and her team have now decorated the village with their creative work! Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the project.

GLAPTHORN RECREATION GROUND

Saturday 21st May saw the official opening of the Glapthorn Recreation Ground. The facility was formally opened by Councillor Jason Smithers (Leader, North Northamptonshire Council) along with Tom Pursglove MP for Corby & East Northamptonshire.

The event, organised by Glapthorn Playing Field Association, showcased the facility and community asset.

GLAPTHORN VILLAGE TRAFFIC MONITORING

GLAPTHORN VILLAGE TRAFFIC MONITORING

Glapthorn Parish Council continues to monitor traffic volumes and speed on Benefield Road, outside the Primary School and access road to the Recreation Ground. The vehicle activated sign (VAS) has now been relocated to monitor traffic travelling eastbound and entering the village from Benefield.
