LOCAL CRIME ALERT!
Recent reports from Northamptonshire Police has highlighted increased local criminal activity, particularly the theft of farm and garden machinery in Benefield. In these instances criminals have been accessing farms/gardens purporting to be "looking for a lost dog" when challenged. In addition, there has been a spate of catalytic converter thefts in Oundle.

GLAPTHORN & SOUTHWICK SHOW
The date of the 2021 Show has been rescheduled from 17th July to Saturday 4th September and will be held in Glapthorn Village Hall.
The Schedule will be printed in the next few weeks with a copy delivered to every house and published on the Glapthorn website.

GLAPTHORN VILLAGE HALL ARCHIVE
In June 2002 Glapthorn Village Hall was formally opened at an event in conjunction with the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations in the village. A video record of the event has recently been found and can now be viewed following the link below.

ANGLIAN WATER - UPCOMING WORKS
Anglian Water have announced a project to upgrade the existing water recycling centre off Cotterstock Road. Anglian Water will be creating new underground storm tanks within the existing site boundary; allowing a larger volume of water to be stored in the event of heavy rain fall.
Anglian Water engineers will start work in November for approximately 9 weeks.

ENC INTRODUCES COVID19 MARSHALS
COVID-19 marshals will be deployed in East Northamptonshire from 31st October to support the local effort to curb the spread of the virus.

SOUTHWICK & GLAPTHORN VILLAGE SHOW
July's annual show was cancelled due to current restrictions, so an alternative village show was held on Saturday in the gardens of Church Cottage. The event demonstrated outstanding local talent in gardening, arts and crafts. Proceeds from the afternoon were in aid of Cransley Hospice.

ENC NEWS UPDATE
Leisure facilities owned by East Northamptonshire Council (ENC) will start to re-open from Saturday 25 July.
All three leisure centres across the district, which are run by Freedom Leisure on behalf of ENC, will re-open although customers can expect to see some changes to opening hours, programme timetables and services on offer in line with current guidance.
